There is no one path to achieving success in your career, at work or in your business.
At the Workplace
Its is not everyone that is cut out for working for themselves as a self-employed person, running their own business or being an entrepreneur. Some people are perfectly happy and fulfilled being in a job as an employee provided the job meets their personal aspirations in terms of job security, values, remuneration and fulfilment.
.

Self Employed
Some take that first step from being in full-time employment to working as self-employed. This is particularly suitable for people with certain skills in demand that can pay enough for them to work as self-employed people bearing in mind in most cases being self-employed means one will have to earn enough to cover holidays, sickness and pay into a pension scheme as well as other contributions.
.
Business Owner or Entrepreneur
This is most suitable for those who want to leave employment or their 9-5 jobs in order to run their own businesses. This might be in a bid to have better control of their time and freedom to generate their own income and achieve “financial freedom”. Being an entrepreneur or a full-time business owner needs a very different mindset from being in employed and working for someone else. It is important when taking that step to carefully consider it and the potential implications on one’s income and finances before taking the step. It is advisable on occasions to start such enterprises as a side hustle initially before making the jump.
The decision as to what approach to take has to be carefully though through as part of one’s vision and goal setting strategy with a clear strategy with timescales and an implementation and change management strategy to bring any such change into fruition.
